High Court in Kampala dismisses PPF candidate Ivan Bwowe's appeal against Nakawa Division West MP nominations

Justice Collins Acellam of the High Court in Kampala dismissed a pre-election appeal by PPF candidate Ivan Bwowe, who argued that seven rival candidates, including Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi, were invalidly nominated for writing 'Nakawa West' instead of the gazetted 'Nakawa Division West', the Daily Monitor reports. The judge held that the Electoral Commission lawfully treated the error as a clerical irregularity it could correct, and upheld the nominations.
