High Court in Kampala orders state to produce detained opposition aide Sam Mugumya within seven days

Civil Division judge Collins Acellam issued a writ of habeas corpus directing the Chief of Defence Forces, the Directorate of Intelligence and Security and the Attorney General to produce Sam Mugumya, a former aide to Kizza Besigye and PFF parliamentary aspirant, before a court within seven days, The Observer reports. The judge found that a Ministry of Defence official's denial that Mugumya was in any official detention facility did not adequately answer the claims about his arrest.
