High Court Land Division clears Bujenje MP Patrick Kasumba in Martin Road property dispute

Justice Immaculate Busingye Byaruhanga of the High Court Land Division ruled that Brig Samuel Mutesasira Wasswa and a businessman had acquired no lawful interest in a Martin Road property in Kampala, finding their dealings with the Departed Asians Property Custodian Board fraudulent and their documents forged. The court found the late Col Moses Kayima's family to be the rightful beneficiaries, dismissed fraud allegations against MP Patrick Kasumba, who had acted as the family's lawyer, and ordered the businessman's eviction. According to the Daily Monitor, the ruling clears Kasumba in a related criminal case at Buganda Road that had been stayed.
