High Court orders Besigye and co-accused to pick State Brief lawyers in treason trial, Kampala

According to ChimpReports, Justice Emmanuel Baguma directed the Registrar to give Kizza Besigye and his co-accused a list of State Brief lawyers to choose from, and to appoint counsel for them if they did not choose, after disputes over legal representation delayed the trial. Besigye told the court the absence of his lawyers was caused by the state and that the defence had not been given access to prosecution disclosures; the case was adjourned to 15 July.
