High Court orders DPP to complete evidence disclosure in Besigye treason trial by 3 March

Justice Emmanuel Baguma of the High Court Criminal Division in Kampala ordered prosecutors to fully disclose their evidence in the treason case against Dr Kizza Besigye, Obeid Lutale and Captain Denis Oola by 3 March 2026, after defence lawyers objected to delays, The Independent reports. Prosecutors said partial disclosure had been made and sought more time; the defence said Besigye remains on remand after being denied bail.
