High Court orders prosecution to serve witness-protection application in Besigye treason case

Justice Emmanuel Baguma of the High Court in Kampala ordered the prosecution to properly serve Kizza Besigye and his lawyers with its application to conceal the identities of six state witnesses, set filing timelines, and adjourned the pre-trial hearing to 16 April. Defence lawyers including Martha Karua and Erias Lukwago told the court the prosecution had not complied with an earlier order on full disclosure. Besigye said the proceedings were unfair and threatened to stop attending court.
