High Court quashes Minister Amongi's dismissal of Special Interest Groups Secretary Turyasigura

In a ruling on 27 August 2026, Justice Simon Peter Kinobe of the High Court found that Gender Minister Betty Amongi acted illegally in extending Osborn Turyasigura's probation and dismissed him without a hearing, and quashed the 1 April dismissal, ChimpReports reported. The government had alleged he used forged academic documents, which he denied; the court did not rule on the forgery claim and directed the government to follow proper procedure, including a fair hearing, before deciding on his appointment.
