High Court strikes out Ssekikubo's appeal against Rwashande's nomination in Lwemiyaga over late filing

Justice Joyce Kavuma of the High Court in Kampala dismissed an application by Lwemiyaga County MP Theodore Ssekikubo, standing as an independent, to validate his late appeal against an Electoral Commission decision upholding the nomination of NRM candidate Brig Gen Emmanuel Rwashande. The court held that the five-day limit for such appeals is mandatory and found that the Commission's ruling had been served on Ssekikubo's lawyers on 3 December 2025, rejecting his argument that he learnt of it only on 8 December. Each party was ordered to bear its own costs.
