Saturday George, the incumbent workers' representative on Kabale District Council, boycotted the special interest group elections at Kabale Municipal Stadium, saying he and his union members were missing from the voters' register, and petitioned the Electoral Commission's Kabale office through his lawyers to cancel the workers' election. The Returning Officer, Aisha Nansubuga, confirmed receipt of the complaint and said the register problems were not of the Commission's making; the Commission later declared independent Collins Saturday Kahesi the winner.
Disputed: George says the register used was irregular and excluded union members; the Kabale Returning Officer says any register irregularities were not caused by the Electoral Commission, which only uses the lists.
