Independent Bukedea County MP candidate John Bosco Ikojo alleged that groups he called 'goons' took over polling, ticked ballots for a rival, kept journalists out of Bukedea and drove voters away under police protection on polling day. He said under 2% of registered voters voted but the declared winner was given 68,000 votes. South Kyoga Deputy Regional Police Commander Samuel Abbedi denied that police aided election violence and said investigations were ongoing.
Disputed: Ikojo says groups operated under the protection of police vans, while the Deputy Regional Police Commander denies police aided election violence.
