Kabale Municipality postpones planned eviction of traders until after Easter

Policy & Legislation Single source Kabale 28 Mar 2026 Severity: 1/5

Kabale Municipality postponed the eviction of traders and informal businesses from unauthorised areas that had been scheduled for 28 March 2026, moving it to an unspecified date after Easter. Deputy Town Clerk Eric Sunday said the decision followed traders' appeals for more time, and municipal officials said the exercise, part of a national directive, would relocate traders to designated markets and was not politically motivated.
