Kabanda and Electoral Commission ask High Court to expunge 97 affidavits in Rubongoya's Kampala Central petition

Justice & Court Rulings Verified Kampala 1 Oct 2026 Severity: 1/5

According to the Daily Monitor, lawyers for Kampala Central MP and Minister Minsa Kabanda Nabbengo and for the Electoral Commission asked the High Court in Kampala to strike out 97 affidavits filed in support of NUP Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya's election petition. They argued that the affidavits had been filed without the court's authorisation and that their admissibility should be decided before the main petition is heard.
