Justice & Court Rulings Single source Kampala Mar 2026 (day not reported) Severity: 1/5

Justice Bonny Isaac Teko of a court in Kampala ruled on a judicial review application by a principal registrar of titles at the Ministry of Lands. The registrar had been ordered to pay costs after a landowner sued over the cancellation of her name from a land title while a related case was pending in the Masaka High Court. According to The Independent, the judge held that an official who makes a legal error is not personally liable unless bad faith, malice or fraud is shown, and found an arguable error of law in the earlier decision.
