Kanungu District Task Force closes border points to general traffic and shuts weekly markets and bars over Ebola

According to ChimpReports, the Kanungu District Task Force and security committee, led by the RDC, met in an emergency session on 28 May 2026 after a national decision to temporarily close Uganda–DRC crossings. The directives close border points including Ishasha and Kyeshero to general traffic except cargo, registered refugees and security personnel, shut weekly markets, bars and discos, and place burials and public gatherings under health controls.
