Kanyanya court denies detained NUP deputy spokesperson Mufumbiro release to attend wife's burial

According to the Daily Monitor, the Magistrate's Court at Kanyanya in Kawempe Division denied bail to detained NUP deputy spokesperson Alex Mufumbiro Waiswa, who had sought release to attend the burial of his wife, rejecting sureties including his father and the Kampala Lord Mayor-elect. He faces charges including unlawful drilling and conspiracy to commit a felony. NUP leaders, including Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi, criticised the decision at the burial in Luuka District.
