Kayunga Chief Magistrate's Court dismisses NRM's Jackline Birungi's recount bid, upholds Harriet Nakwedde as Woman MP

The Kayunga Chief Magistrate's Court dismissed an application by NRM candidate Jackline Birungi for a recount of votes from 10 ballot boxes she said had not been tallied in the Kayunga District Woman MP race. Chief Magistrate John Francis Kaggwa ruled that she had not shown the votes would change the outcome and that her uncertified declaration forms could not be relied on; he ordered the Electoral Commission to gazette NUP's Harriet Nakwedde as the elected MP.
