NUP supporters blocked from Kayunga court as NRM candidate's vote recount application is heard

Security was increased in Kayunga's main trading centres as the Chief Magistrate heard an application by NRM candidate Jackline Birungi for a recount of results from all 105 polling stations in the District Woman MP race won by NUP's Harriet Nakwedde. According to the Daily Monitor, hundreds of NUP supporters who wanted to follow the proceedings were blocked from entering the court premises at the district headquarters in Ntenjeru.
