Corruption & Abuse of Office Verified Kayunga 16 Sep 2025 Severity: 1/5

According to the Daily Monitor, Kayunga District councillors clashed verbally with district chairperson Andrew Muwonge during a council meeting, questioning why Shs150 million meant for toilets in six primary schools was redirected to a road without council approval. A councillor accused the district executive of reallocating the money in order to misappropriate it; the chairperson walked out and the meeting was adjourned, and Speaker Saleh Bulinsoni said the council would write to the Auditor General.
