Lawyers and activists petition IGG to investigate Speaker Anita Among's wealth declaration

According to URN in The Independent, a group of lawyers and activists, including Andrew Karamagi, filed a petition with the Inspectorate of Government on 13 May 2026 alleging that outgoing Speaker Anita Among failed to declare or under-declared her assets under the Leadership Code Act, and asking for a copy of her declaration. An Inspectorate spokesperson said that, to her knowledge, Among had filed her declaration and that release to third parties is at the IGG's discretion.
