Local Government minister Balaam Barugahara directed Yalelo to sell off its current stock and then stop operating its fish shop in Busia town until further notice, The Observer reports. The order was given at an anti-corruption meeting at Busia District headquarters, where local fish traders said the company was trading from Busia Customs premises without a municipal trading licence; the deputy town clerk said the council had earlier sealed the shop but the seal was allegedly broken. An anonymous Yalelo employee said the company was not ready to close but was willing to meet the council's requirements.
