Low voter turnout reported in Kalangala parliamentary by-election

NTV Uganda reported low voter turnout in several areas of Kalangala District during a by-election to fill the seat previously held by Hellen Nakimuli. Five candidates contested, according to the report, and Electoral Commission chairperson Simon Byabakama and other commissioners were stationed in the district. The district has 42,452 registered voters and 115 polling stations across its islands.
