Luzira prison restricts defence lawyers from bringing case materials to treason accused, including Besigye

Defence lawyers Lukwago and Karua said the Officer-in-Charge of Luzira Upper Prison told them their authorisation letter did not allow them to bring case evidence, laptops, food and other materials to the inmates for an evidence-review session. The lawyers said the restriction violates their clients' right to examine the prosecution's evidence and that they would not proceed under those conditions, which NTV Uganda reports puts the treason trial in doubt.
