Makindye General Court Martial charges five civilians over killing of Mukono police O/C ASP Emmanuel Bagenda

According to the Daily Monitor, the Makindye General Court Martial charged five men, described as boda-boda riders and labourers, with murder, aggravated robbery and attempted murder over the shooting of Mukono O/C ASP Emmanuel Bagenda, and remanded them to Kitalya Prison until April 1, 2026. Defence lawyers alleged the accused had been battered before appearing in court; the court said no evidence of mistreatment had been presented but directed that they receive medical care.
