Protest & Civil Unrest Verified Kampala 16 Sep 2025 Severity: 2/5

On the second day of a strike called by the Uganda National Teachers' Union over delayed salary enhancement, a Daily Monitor survey found that only a few teachers in Kampala government schools had stopped work. Head teachers at schools including Buganda Road Primary, Makerere College School and Kampala High School said lessons continued, while Unatu Secretary General Filbert Baguma said the strike would go on until the government addressed teachers' grievances.
