Mass at Lubaga Cathedral to pray for detained Kizza Besigye called off; Winnie Byanyima says President ordered it

A Catholic Mass organised by the family of detained opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye at Lubaga Cathedral was called off as worshippers, including opposition leaders, gathered. Winnie Byanyima, Besigye's wife, told journalists that Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere had informed her the day before that President Museveni had phoned him to cancel the Mass and to investigate its intentions. According to Byanyima, the Archbishop said another date would be set after the President's inquiries.
