Mawogola North candidate Jet Mwebaze alleges army-backed rigging and violence on polling day

Parliamentary aspirant Jet Mwebaze said that on polling day in Mawogola North, UPDF soldiers took over most polling stations by 10am, chased away his agents, assaulted voters and stuffed ballot papers marked for the NRM candidate. He said relatives of President Museveni oversaw this, that some of his agents and supporters were arrested or hospitalised, and that someone linked to the Electoral Commission offered to sell him ballot papers in Sembabule. ChimpReports reported that neither the UPDF nor the Electoral Commission had responded by publication.
