Mob attacks Ayivu Deputy RCC, mayor and Red Cross team at Odramacaku, Arua City

According to West Nile police spokesperson SSP Josephine Angucia, residents at Odramacaku Trading Centre threw stones at Ayivu Division Deputy RCC Godfrey Jonah Mbigutti, Mayor Marlon Avutia and a Uganda Red Cross team who had come to talk about reopening the Odramacaku market, which had been closed under Ebola prevention measures. Police said the crowd followed the officials to Odramacaku Police Station, security forces fired to disperse it, two men were injured by stray bullets and three vehicles were damaged. Police said cases of assault, malicious damage, theft and unlawful wounding were opened and no arrests had been made.
