Mpigi High Court dismisses bid to compel EC documents in Mawokota County election petition

The Daily Monitor reports that Justice Jamson Karemera of the High Court in Mpigi dismissed an application by petitioner Hillary Kiyaga's lawyers seeking to compel the Electoral Commission to produce the documents behind MP Amelia Kyambadde's declaration as winner. The judge instead directed both parties to file all required documents, including Declaration of Results forms, between 25 and 30 September ahead of hearings set for 6 and 7 October, and asked journalists to report the proceedings accurately.
