Nile Post reports that Point FM, a Mubende radio station owned by Lwemiyaga County MP Theodore Ssekikubo, was switched off after announcing plans to host NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi ahead of his 7 October rally in Mubende. According to the report, people apparently from the Uganda Communications Commission, accompanied by security personnel, raided the station, and presenters said two broadcasting consoles and other equipment were taken.
Disputed: Reports say Point FM was taken off air and its equipment confiscated ahead of a planned Kyagulanyi appearance; UCC says it ordered the station off air and denies any link to Kyagulanyi or political motive.
