Museveni commends UPDF for election security at Tarehe Sita celebrations in Kabale

Speaking at the 45th Tarehe Sita celebrations in Kabale District, President Museveni praised the UPDF and other security agencies, saying they had foiled plans by unnamed groups to cause trouble during the recent general elections. According to The Independent, Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Keinerugaba told the same event that security agencies had intelligence that some political actors planned violence, that the threats were contained, and that the 2026 election was the most peaceful in Uganda's history.
