Museveni nominated as NRM presidential candidate at Kyambogo as roads around venue closed

The Observer reported that President Yoweri Museveni was the first candidate nominated by the Electoral Commission on the opening day of the two-day presidential nomination exercise at Kyambogo University playgrounds. According to the paper, security blocked most roads around Kyambogo, Kireka and Naalya, halting vehicle movement in the area. After nomination, Museveni urged observance of COVID-19 guidelines and said security was on alert against people he said were planning chaos during the election period.
