Museveni welcomes return of exiled Col. Samson Mande at Independence Day celebrations, Kololo

At the 63rd Independence Day celebrations at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, President Museveni publicly welcomed back Col. Samson Mande, who had been living in exile. Museveni said Mande had engaged in some rebel activities while abroad but agreed to return and cut ties with them after government cadres contacted him in Sweden. Mande thanked the government and pledged to work with it for peace and national unity.
