Museveni welcomes return of exiled Col. Samson Mande at Independence Day event in Kololo

President Museveni publicly welcomed Col. Samson Mande, a Bush War veteran who had lived in exile in Sweden, during the 63rd Independence Day celebrations at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. Museveni said Mande had agreed to return and cut ties with rebel activities. According to ChimpReports, which cites a letter from the NRM Diaspora Sweden Branch, the return followed years of contacts involving Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and Gen. Salim Saleh, and Mande was issued a diplomatic passport.
