Nakawa court charges PFF Busia Municipality candidate Samuel Makokha with misprision of treason, remands him

Nile Post reports that the Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court charged Samuel Makokha, the PFF flag bearer for Busia Municipality, with misprision of treason and remanded him to Luzira Prison. Prosecutors allege he knew of treason plans by Dr Kizza Besigye and did not report them; Makokha denied the charge, and his lawyers called the case misconceived because Besigye has not been convicted. The lawyers said bail could not be sought because no state attorneys were in court.
