National Women's Council pledges support for NRM candidates for Speaker and Deputy Speaker

The chairperson of the National Women's Council, Hajati Faridah Kibowa, told journalists in Ntinda, Kampala, that the council would back whichever candidates the NRM fields for Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 12th Parliament. According to ChimpReports, she said candidates' agendas mattered more than gender, as women's activists criticised the prospect of an all-male parliamentary leadership.
