Ndorwa East MP Wilfred Niwagaba nominated as independent parliamentary candidate in Kabale

The Kabale District Electoral Commission returning officer nominated Ndorwa East MP Wilfred Niwagaba to defend his seat as an independent in the January 2026 general elections, ChimpReports reported. Niwagaba, who is Shadow Attorney General, said running as an independent would let him follow his constituents' priorities rather than party lines.
