NTV Uganda journalists denied entry to Parliament and accreditation withdrawn, Kampala

NTV Uganda journalists were stopped from entering Parliament and their press tags were taken by security, according to Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi and MP Muwanga Kivumbi, who linked the move to NTV reports on 'unopposed' candidates including the Speaker and Deputy Speaker. Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa said he was not aware of the matter, that the Speaker and Deputy Speaker play no part in accreditation, and that he would check with the Clerk. The Parliamentary Commission had given no explanation by press time.
