NUP candidate Florence Asio goes missing before Bukedea Woman MP nomination; party alleges abduction

NUP said its candidate for Bukedea District Woman MP, Florence Asio, disappeared with several campaign team members hours before her scheduled nomination, which the party describes as an abduction that kept her out of the race against Speaker Anita Among. NUP Secretary General Lewis Rubongoya said Asio later resurfaced but is traumatised, and that two campaign team members, also NUP candidates, remain missing. According to ChimpReports, security authorities had not commented by press time.
