NUP Kassambya candidate arrested over alleged forged nomination receipt

Police arrested NUP's Kassambya County flag bearer Peter Kyagera at the Electoral Commission offices in Mubende at about 4pm on 23 October 2025 during his nomination, after the returning officer said his Shs3 million URA nomination-fee receipt carried a number already issued to a rival, Daily Monitor reported. He was charged with forgery and uttering a false document, denied both, and was remanded on 24 October.
