ChimpReports reported increased security deployment at Iganga Chief Magistrates Court, where NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi was expected to be arraigned on charges including unlawful assembly and acts likely to spread an infectious disease. His lawyer Benjamin Katana said Kyagulanyi had been held beyond the legal time limit and denied access to his lawyers, and called the court process illegitimate. Kyagulanyi had been held at Nalufenya police detention centre since Wednesday night.
