NUP member Winifred Nakandi to run as independent for Nakawa East seat against NUP flagbearer

ChimpReports reports that National Unity Platform member Winifred Nakandi announced she will contest the Nakawa East parliamentary seat as an independent, against the party's endorsed candidate Waiswa Mufumbiro. She had earlier withdrawn from the Kampala Woman MP race under NUP, citing what she alleged were irregularities in the allocation of party cards.
