NUP presents its parliamentary flag bearers for Kampala at party headquarters in Makerere Kavule

According to the Nile Post, the National Unity Platform held a ceremony at its Makerere Kavule headquarters to present its official parliamentary candidates for Kampala ahead of the 2026 elections. Party leaders, including Secretary-General David Lewis Rubongoya and Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi, urged supporters to back official flag bearers rather than defectors or independents. Nakawa East nominee Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro, who the article says remains in detention, was represented by his twin brother.
