Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola of the National Unity Platform was nominated to contest the Kawempe North parliamentary seat in the 15 January 2026 elections, the Nile Post reports. Nalukoola won the seat in a 13 March 2025 by-election; the outlet says a High Court order for a fresh election was followed by an appeal that appears to be time-barred.
