NUP's Ronald Balimwezo declared winner of Kampala Lord Mayor election

According to the Daily Monitor, Ronald Balimwezo of the National Unity Platform was declared Kampala's Lord Mayor with 141,220 votes after two days of tallying. NRM's Moses Kizito Nsubuga came second with 43,615 votes and the incumbent, Erias Lukwago of PFF, third with 41,915. Balimwezo thanked his party and voters and said he would seek Lukwago's counsel.
