According to the Daily Monitor, Parliament's Committee on Physical Infrastructure gave Kampala Capital City Authority seven days to report on its management of drainage and on how disputed developments in drainage channels were approved, after inspecting flood hotspots at Nalukolongo-Najjanankumbi, Lugogo and Kyambogo. Committee chairperson Mwine Mpaka said officials who approved projects against technical advice could face disciplinary or criminal action, and MP Emmanuel Ilokul alleged political influence had overridden technical recommendations; KCCA's deputy executive director said the authority has a master plan.
