Environmental Issues Single source Kampala 1 Aug 2026 Severity: 1/5

Parliament's Committee on Physical Infrastructure inspected flood-prone sites in Kampala, including Nalukolongo-Najjanankumbi, Lugogo and Kyambogo, and gave KCCA seven days to report on its drainage management and how developments on drainage channels were approved, URN reported. Committee members alleged that technical advice may have been overridden in approving some private developments; KCCA's deputy executive director said the authority has a master plan to guide development.
