Parliamentary nominations in Kampala draw large crowds and gridlock streets

Parliamentary candidates including Leader of the Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi (Nakawa West), Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola (Kawempe North) and Moses Muhangi (Kampala Central) were nominated at Electoral Commission offices, with supporter processions causing heavy traffic, according to Nile Post. In Kira Municipality, supporters of PFF's Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda blocked roads on the way to Bukasa. The outlet says police kept order, mainly by regulating traffic.
