Parliamentary re-run held in 18 polling stations in Ajuri County, Alebtong, under heavy security

Voters in Ajuri County, Alebtong District, voted in a re-run at 18 polling stations whose earlier results the Electoral Commission had nullified over what it called serious discrepancies. The contest is mainly between UPC's Fred Jalameso, who led the provisional count, and NRM's government chief whip Denis Hamson Obua. According to the Daily Monitor, officials reported higher turnout than on 15 January, and soldiers and police mounted roadblocks on main routes.
