During a meeting with Uganda Railways Corporation officials, the Committee on Physical Infrastructure chaired by Mwine Mpaka said its own search showed that Philadelphia Trade and Industry Limited, which it said is owned by members of businessman Godfrey Kirumira's family, holds a 99-year lease on 1.3 acres of railway land opposite the URC headquarters. URC Managing Director Benon Kajuna told MPs the lease extension was never completed because a caveat was lodged in 2012. The committee is expected to meet Kirumira.
