PLU chairman Jothan Yamurebire Burobuto nominated for Kampala Lord Mayor

According to The Observer, lawyer and activist Jothan Yamurebire Burobuto, chairman of the Party of Labour Uganda, was nominated to contest for Kampala Lord Mayor shortly before nominations closed. He told the paper he had dropped his presidential bid, saying his party's agents and coordinators had faced harassment and arrests by security operatives while gathering signatures for party registration.
